Amsterdam, Netherlands – November 19th, 2024 – London-based marine technology innovator, Seabird Technologies, has launched an exciting new concept at METSTRADE 2024: the Seabird 400X, a groundbreaking high-power electric outboard designed to set new standards in marine propulsion.
Richard Draisey, CEO, "At Seabird we are all about accelerating a cleaner future for the industry. Our ideas were born in the heat of competition and now we are excited to transfer our learning to commercial innovation. Our #ClearWater vision represents our ambition to set a new pace in electric propulsion whilst leaving the waters we cherish untouched."
Seabird designed and built the world's first high performance all-electric foiling raceboat - The RaceBird - to prove they could accelerate marine decarbonisation without compromising the thrill of flying through the water. The Seabird 400X is the next step. Combining sleek ergonomics with near silent high performance, minimal environmental impact and highly efficient operation, the Seabird 400X puts clear water between its technology and anything else available.
The Seabird 400X has been meticulously designed from the ground up around an 800V electric powertrain, offering 400kW (530HP+) peak and 300kW (400HP) continuous power, all within a small and hydrodynamically efficient package and weighing just ~200KG.
Welcome to Electric 2.0.
